One of the Miners Found in Gravel Pit
Crews recovered the body of one of the miners who was buried when the gravel pit they were working in collapsed in Copiah County.
The rescue team worked all morning to remove that worker from the equipment. Officials are not releasing which of the two employees were found.
Crews are continuing their efforts to recover the second employee at the site.
Late last week, Emmitt Shorter and James Hemphill were operating heavy equipment when they were buried alive in 10 to 12 feet of mud, water and slush.
