More flooding reported in Picayune, Pearl River County
PEARL RIVER COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- Picayune and southern Pearl River County have experienced significant flooding for the second time this week.
There were reports of standing water on I-59 in the city as well as downtown and at the intersection of Highways 43 and 11.
We spoke to one Picayune resident who talked about what it’s been like dealing with all this flooding this week. Abel Guerra said, “Nothing like this one. You’ve had some heavy downpours and stuff like that, but not as fast as this one has dropped so much water in a brief amount of time, but hopefully it will get better.”
In Pearl River County Thursday, there are two confirmed road washouts: West Union Road at Melonlee Lane and Pigott Lane.
