MDOT urging drivers to be weather aware

The Mississippi Department of Transportation is sharing tips for navigating roadways during wet conditions.

Drivers are advised to avoid traveling if able to. If you do drive, avoid using cruise control when roads are wet.

MDOT is reminding drivers that roadbeds may be washed out under flood waters, never drive through flooded conditions under the water.

Likewise, never drive around a barricaded road.

If your vehicle does stall due to rising water, abandon it immediately and seek higher ground.
