Coast man sentenced for overdue child support, charged with child desertion
A Coast man has been sentenced after admitting he failed to pay more than $38,000 in child support.
Attorney General Lynn Fitch’s office says 44-year-old Michael Stringfield Jr. was sentenced on one felony count of child desertion for failing to pay $38,545 in past-due child support.
A Stone County judge sentenced Stringfield to a five-year suspended sentence and five years of post-release supervision.
He was also ordered to pay full restitution when it comes to that overdue child support.
