List of Juneteenth events across South Mississippi
Juneteenth is celebrated annually on June 19th to commemorate the ending of slavery in the United States. Local organizations are coming together with events across the Gulf Coast.
The City of Biloxi is hosting their annual Juneteenth 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament. That takes place on Friday, June 19 at 5:30 at John Henry Park. The tournament is open to teams with three to five players.
The Black Business Marketplace will take place on Friday, June 19 at Euphoria Lounge. The marketplace features black-owned businesses, creatives, and entrepreneurs. The marketplace is free and open to the public from 4 to 6 p.m. Afterwards, there will be exclusive access to the private marketplace during Culture and Cocktails from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets are required for this event.
On Friday, June 19, you can head to the 100 Men Hall in Bay St. Louis for Juneteenth with Twurt Chamberlain. That takes place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
JZ 94.5FM The People’s Station is hosting their Juneteenth Celebration. That takes place on Saturday, June 20 from 2 to 6 p.m. at 3312 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Gulfport.
Movers and Shakers Social Club, Inc. will hold their annual Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 20. That runs from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Point Cadet Plaza.
In Moss Point, Juneteenth228 Celebration and Community Festival takes place at 2nd Street Park beginning at 2 p.m.
