Mostly dry tonight with daily rain chances sticking around into the weekend

Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at the week ahead

After a fairly quiet evening, scattered showers and thunderstorms will begin developing again overnight as clouds increase across the Coast. Overnight lows will fall into the lower 70s with light southeast winds becoming calm late.

Thursday brings the highest rain chances of the next couple of days, with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected to develop during the morning and into the afternoon. Some storms could produce heavy downpours at times, especially during the midday hours. High temperatures will stay a little cooler thanks to the clouds and rain, but still pretty warm… topping out near 84.

An unsettled weather pattern will continue through the weekend and into early next week, bringing daily opportunities for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Coverage won’t be an all-day washout each day, but outdoor plans may need flexibility at times.

Temperatures will remain warm but close to seasonal norms, with highs generally in the mid to upper 80s and muggy overnight lows in the lower 70s. By early next week, rain chances remain elevated before slightly drier air begins working in by Tuesday and Wednesday, helping overnight temperatures dip closer to the upper 60s in some spots.
