Ocean Springs mayor shares updates on infrastructure, growth and future plans at community breakfast
OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV)-Ocean Springs Mayor Bobby Cox shared updates on major projects, city growth, and future plans during the quarterly breakfast with the mayor held at Desi Vega’s Steakhouse.
Mayor Cox says Ocean Springs continues to make progress on infrastructure improvements that should be completed by July. Those projects include a new water well, watermain replacements, drainage work, and road expansions aimed at improving safety and reducing flooding.
The mayor also discussed the city’s financial progress, saying the two percent food and beverage tax continues to support local projects while property insurance renewals returned with significant savings.
He added that more than $9 million has been brought in from the state to support infrastructure and revitalization efforts across the city.
City leaders say they hope to continue this momentum with even more growth and improvements ahead this year for Ocean Springs.
