5/27 – Rob’s “Memorial Day Weekend” Forecast

The pattern continues to keep high-pressure along the eastern sea-board providing for a blocking pattern. An area of low-pressure just to the NE of the Bahamas will continue to develop into a potential TROPICAL SYSTEM over the weekend and move NW to the South Carolina/Georgia coast by Memorial Day. This should bring a good bit of rain along the SE United States…and at the same time, push drier air into the Gulf south early next week. Systems will stay away from he area with just a slight chance for a few afternoon t-storms provided by the sea-breeze front beginning to establish. With high-pressure dominating the area, the mercury will push into the upper 80s/low 90s Sunday/Memorial Day.
