Gulfport High construction update
When students return to Gulfport High School for the 2017-2018 school year they’ll be coming back to some big changes.
Campus wide construction projects began during classes last year. Once students cleared out for the summer, workers kicked things into high gear. At the moment, the project is well ahead of schedule.
MC Price Barton with the Gulfport School District tells News 25 that administrators, staff, and students are excited to see the much needed update happening and that the new additions will make GHS even better equipped to educate the student body. “Right now we’re in our last phase of construction with Gulfport High School. Right when the kids got out of school, we tore down the old main building. What you see behind us is the ninth and tenth grade and they are wrapping that up as we speak. That will be ready for move in and the students will actually get to use the facility once they get back to school. It’s very Gulfport inspired and so they’re very excited about it, just as the teachers, administrators, all of Gulfport.”
The public is welcome to check out the completed project on Saturday, October 14th at the school’s grand opening celebration.
