Slightly Soggy This Mother’s Day Weekend
Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at the week ahead
Showers and thunderstorms will continue through the Mother’s Day weekend as moisture remains in place across the Gulf Coast. Saturday looks to be the wettest day, with multiple rounds of rain and storms capable of producing heavy downpours and localized flooding. Many areas could pick up 1 to 3 inches of rain through Monday, with isolated higher totals possible.
Rain chances continue Sunday and early Monday before a cold front moves through by the afternoon, bringing in cooler, drier air. Sunshine and lower humidity return Tuesday and stick around through the rest of next week, with highs mainly in the upper 70s and low 80s.
