5/7 – Sam’s Thursday Night Forecast
Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at the week ahead
Tonight stays mostly cloudy and mild with lows in the mid 60s. By Friday, scattered showers and thunderstorms will are expected to develop throughout the afternoon, with highs in the mid 70s. Rain chances continue to increase Friday night as more widespread showers and storms move in by Saturday morning.
Saturday looks to be the soggiest day of the stretch, with periods of rain and thunderstorms likely throughout the morning with a little break by the afternoon, and highs near 80 degrees. Showers and storms remain in the forecast through Sunday, although there will likely be some breaks in the rain once again. Temperatures stay warm and humid through the weekend, with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s.
Drier air finally arrives early next week. Sunshine returns Monday and continues through at least Thursday with lower humidity and comfortable mornings. Overnight lows will dip into the upper 50s by Monday night, while afternoon highs settle into the lower 80s.
