Union members ratify new CBA with Ingalls

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WXXV)- Workers at Ingalls Shipbuilding are getting a major pay raise.

All five union groups representing the different trades at Ingalls voted to approve new contracts that include an immediate base wage increase of at least 18 percent through March 8, 2031.

Huntington Ingalls Industries officials say the total wage growth under the new deal could reach between 35 and 47 percent over the life of the contract, with the goal of recruiting new workers and keeping experienced shipbuilders on the job.

Ingalls Shipbuilding President Brian Blanchette says the agreement strengthens the company’s partnership with its workforce and supports the growing demand from the U.S. Navy for more ships.
