Crash involving CTA bus in Gulfport injures 4

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV) — A two-vehicle crash in Gulfport involving a Coast Transit Authority bus left four people injured on Monday afternoon, according to the Gulfport Police Department.

The crash took place around noon on Dedeaux Road and Kelin Road. Police say the CTA bus collided with a white pickup truck and hit a traffic light pole head on.

Four people were injured in the crash and transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Following the crash, the City of Gulfport issued an ‘Emergency Lane Closure’ due to a water main break needing repair on the corner of Dedeaux and Klein. The right, eastbound lane of Dedeaux between South Wilson Boulevard and Klein Road will be closed for the repairs, as well as Klein Road between Cleve Street and Dedeaux Road. These roads are expected to reopen on Thursday at 10 a.m.

Drivers can take Cleve Street and South Wilson Boulevard as detour routes.
