Former St. Martin High JROTC instructor arrested, charged with grooming of a child

JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- Major new details coming to light in the investigation into a former St. Martin High teacher on allegations of inappropriate conduct.

One of the school’s former JROTC instructors is charged with grooming of a child.

Lawrence Dizon Jr. was arrested by Jackson County sheriff’s deputies Wednesday.

You may recall this case began back in early February after the sheriff’s department received word from school administrators about allegations made against Dizon, allegations that involved inappropriate conduct between him and a student.

The investigation revealed more than a thousand text messages between Dizon and the victim, at which point his employment was terminated.

This case has now been handed over to a grand jury, and this is still very much an active investigation.
