Mississippi State, Mississippi Power team up for eaglet tagging project

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- Mississippi Power is teaming up once again with Mississippi State University to help track and protect one of our nation’s most iconic birds: the Bald Eagle!

The eaglets are ready to rule the sky and help scientists conduct Bald Eagle research.

This year, the nest is located on private property in Biloxi, where two eaglets were carefully and safely retrieved by trained professionals.

Once on the ground, the birds received a quick health check and were fitted with small GPS trackers so researchers can follow where they fly and how they grow.
