Two dead, two critically injured in I-10 crash in Jackson County
JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- Law enforcement agencies responded to a fatal crash near Exit 50 in Jackson County Wednesday morning.
According to Mississippi Highway Patrol, the crash involved a prisoner transport van from Florida and a utility truck. Two of the passengers in the transport van died while two others were transported to a hospital in critical condition.
One passenger from the utility truck was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Traffic continues to be blocked westbound at the exit and the I-10 westbound ramp to MS 609 northbound has been closed.
MDOT traffic says the wreck could take up to four hours to clear.
Drivers are asked to found alternate routes or use caution in the area.
