Jackson County Sheriff’s Department investigating dog fighting operation in Vancleave

VANCLEAVE, Miss. (WXXV)- Three people are charged in Jackson County as the sheriff’s department investigates a dog fighting operation in Vancleave.

During the course of the investigation, deputies executed a search warrant and seized 67 dogs, two goats, one horse, and one rooster. All animals have been taken into custody by the Jackson County Animal Shelter.

Forty-five-year-old Princeton Knox was arrested and charged with dog fighting and animal cruelty. Sixty-three-year-old Tracy Daniels was arrested and charged with dog fighting. Twenty-nine-year-old Jaswan Butler was arrested and charged with possession of paraphernalia, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, dog fighting, and probation violation.

This case remains under investigation. Additional charges or arrests may be forthcoming.
