UPDATE: Two arrested in Friday shooting in Gulfport

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- Gulfport Police have arrested two teenage boys in connection to a shooting on 28th Street Friday night.

The 14 and 16 year old teens are each facing one count of Aggravated Assault.

That shooting happened just after 6 p.m. on the night of January 30.

Once police arrived on scene, they found an 18-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was airlifted to a trauma facility, where he is now listed in stable but critical condition.

Investigators learned the incident stemmed from a verbal dispute involving a firearm.

Prior to the victim’s arrival, a confrontation was anticipated but had not yet occurred. When the victim arrived at the location, he was chased by the two teens, who fired their guns at the victim.

The suspects are now being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, with bond for each set at $500,000.
