State officials offer Friday winter weather update

Officials with the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency continue to communicate with the public regarding preparations that need to be made for Winter Storm Fern as well as preparations to take around your house for the cold snap that is expected to follow the storm.

MDOT says it has undertaken the largest road pre-treatment operation on state highways, interstates, and bridges with 167,800 galloons of salt brine used to pre-treat roads in the northern part of the state.
