MEMA shares winter weather preparedness tips

While we’re expected to escape the brunt of this winter storm, officials with the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency are sharing some winter weather preparedness reminders that are always good to keep in mind.

Make sure you have an emergency supply kit with first aid supplies, food and water, and blankets.

Make sure you thoroughly check alternative heat sources like space heaters for safety.

Consider letting water drip from a faucet at your home as freezing temperatures arrive to avoid burst pipes.
