01/15 Ryan’s “Much Cooler” Thursday Morning Forecast
The weather today will be much cooler than yesterday's, but this downtrend won't last long.
Yesterday’s front had temperatures on the relative high side yesterday, but things will be much cooler today and for the start of Friday. Lows fell into the mid-to-upper 30s and low 40s across the area this morning, though thankfully the wind was not quite as strong as it looked like it would be. Still, wind chills were down into the lower 30s for many South MS cities. We’ll struggle to climb through the 40s and into the low 50s later this afternoon, with an expected high near 51 for Gulfport/Biloxi with around a 10-15 mph northerly breeze. We’ll lose a few more degrees by Friday morning with a frosty low near 31 Friday morning, but another approaching front will have temperatures in the low 60s by the after noon. After that, things will start cooling again as we head into the weekend and a frosty start to next week.
There’s a chance of some novelty flurries overnight Saturday, but it doesn’t look like it’ll be long-lasting or problematic as it’s drying out and falling as temperatures try to hit freezing.
