Hancock County woman charged in weekend hit-and-run

A Hancock County woman is facing charges after an early morning hit-and-run Saturday left a man with serious injuries.

22-year-old Amanie May is charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing bodily injury, and is still being held at the Hancock County Jail.

May is accused of hitting that pedestrian with her car around 12:52 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of North Beach Boulevard in Bay St. Louis.

May turned herself in to sheriff’s deputies a few hours later.

Bay St. Louis police say the victim is still hospitalized at this time.
