11/19 – Overnight Fog Again with Another Warm Day

Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at your forecast

Dense fog will be the main issue tonight and again early Thursday, with visibility dropping to less than 1/4 mile across much of South Mississippi after midnight and through about 8 a.m.

Otherwise, expect partly cloudy skies and a low near 61 before sunshine breaks through Thursday afternoon and highs reach the upper 70s. Clouds and fog return Thursday night with temps holding steady in the mid 60s.

Rain chances increase Friday, with a chance for isolated to scattered showers into the afternoon and highs in the upper 70s and low 80s. A few stray showers may linger before midnight Friday night, otherwise things quiet down pretty quickly after sunset.

If you’re planning to travel across the region and heading out this weekend, the weather is looking mostly warm and pleasant, although there may be some rip current issues early next week along South Alabama and Florida Panhandle beaches. Sunshine will push highs near 80 on Saturday before dipping to around 60 that night. Sunday brings a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the upper 70s.

Early next week, expect increasing clouds and occasional rain chances. A slight chance of showers returns Monday afternoon, with more showers and possibly a few rumbles of thunder from Monday night into Tuesday. Highs stay in the mid 70s through Tuesday before cooler air briefly slips in Tuesday night. A slight chance of showers continues into Wednesday with highs in the low 70s.

As of now, our Thanksgiving forecast is looking mild, but still on the warm side. While we will likely see above-average temperatures, there will be a cold front approaching the area by the middle to end of the week that may bring another chance for rain and an even bigger cool down by the weekend. Stay tuned!
