TikTok Chef Addresses Community Need for Food Relief

With SNAP benefits ending for his Gulf Coast neighbors, local TikTok chef and influencer Matthew Bounds began looking for little free pantries near his home to donate food items do. He soon  discovered there were none….so he bought some cabinets and has installed the first in front of Downstage Theatre in Northwood Village on Hwy 49 in Orange Grove.

The pantries run on the honor system – take what you need, leave what you don’t – and can offer some relief to local food banks and accessibility to those without transportation means.  The community is responsible for keeping the cabinet stocked and it’s easy to quickly drop off a donation anytime.
