Gulfport School District release statement on recent safety concerns

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- The Gulfport School District has put out a statement regarding recent safety concerns for students.

They are fully committed to the safety and well-being of their students, staff, and community. They are well aware of recent reports involving potential threats to Anniston Avenue Elementary and Bayou View Middle School.

Both situations have been thoroughly reviewed and addressed.

The district says no immediate danger was identified and appropriate disciplinary actions have been taken. The parents of students directly involved have been contacted directly.
