City of Moss Point appoints interim police chief
MOSS POINT, Miss. (WXXV)- The City of Moss Point has named an interim police chief, according to our media partner the Sun Herald.
During a special council meeting on Tuesday night, they appointed Dennis Stevenson, a retired Mississippi state trooper, to the position of interim police chief.
Stevenson began his career at the Biloxi Police Department, serving four years as a state trooper.
City officials hope to have a new police chief hired within 30 to 45 days according to Mayor Knight in an address to the city Thursday.
