New Wiggins police chief focusing on community above all

WIGGINS, Miss. (WXXV)- The Wiggins Police Department is welcoming a new chief as of last Friday!

We sat down with him to see what his focus will be as the new head.

Chief Timothy Hill has officially moved into his new role. His priorities are set on community first.

As a resident of Wiggins for over 15 years, Hill says he knows the community and is looking to maintain the department’s strong relationship with its citizen.

This includes an open-door policy, allowing for residents to voice their opinions on the good, the bad, and the ugly directly to the department.

He’s also hoping to tackle officer retention in the city.

Above all, Chief Hill says he does not have plans to make any major changes to the department. His main priority though is simply taking care of the people of Wiggins.

Chief Hill says for his first 90 days, he and his team will be going out to all of the businesses and churches in the community to discuss their needs one on one.
