Three teens charged in Tuesday shooting in Gulfport

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- Three teenagers are behind bars after shooting into a home in Gulfport. One is facing charges of threatening a law enforcement officer during the investigation.

Eighteen-year-old Treyshun Whittle and two 17-year-olds are all charged with shooting into a dwelling.

Gulfport police say the trio is accused of shooting into the occupied bedroom of a home at the corner of Roberts Avenue and 28th Street then fleeing the scene early Tuesday morning.

When police took the three into custody at their home, they found four guns, two of which are confirmed stolen.

Additionally, Whittle threatened to shoot a detective and his family while being interviewed about the shooting.

He faces one count of retaliation against a public servant as a result.

The three are currently being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
