Biloxi High holds ‘Start with Hello Week’ to recognize Suicide Prevention Month

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- September is Suicide Prevention Month. Students at Biloxi High are spending the week participating in activities that bring them together.

Monday marked day one of ‘Start with Hello’ week at Biloxi High School. Students kicked off the week of events with ‘Hey Day.’

When they arrived at school, students were greeted with signs saying ‘Hello’ in multiple languages, and they were given ‘My Name Is’ stickers. This is all for students to feel included and seen, and of course, to help them meet new people.

Students spent their lunch period grabbing old friends and meeting new ones to form the ‘H’ in ‘Hello’ for a banner.

The week’s events are put on by the Campus Service Council, which has filled each day with activities to get students involved and let them know that they are not alone.

Each day will bring an opportunity to meet new friends and thank those students trust and care for in recognition of Suicide Prevention Month.
