Volunteers clean tombstones at Biloxi National Cemetery in honor of 9/11

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- The Gulf Coast Veterans Association shared they had an amazing turnout for this year’s National Day of Service.

Over 250 volunteers came out Thursday to clean tombstones at the Biloxi National Cemetery, honoring those service members and families laid to rest.

This is an annual event that happens every September 11th, honoring those lives lost and the heroes who answered the call in the aftermath.

Those who came out included the Armed Forces Retirement Home, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, D’Iberville Middle School, Carry the Load, and many more.
