Workers file lawsuit after Chevron Pascagoula Refinery fire
PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WXXV)- Workers injured at a Pascagoula refinery fire earlier this month are taking action against the Chevron Corporation.
Five of the contract workers involved in the July 14 explosion at the company’s Pascagoula Refinery are filing a lawsuit.
The lawsuit alleges that the employees have been severely injured because of negligence on Chevron’s part.
The law firm which the lawsuit is filed through, Arnold and Itkin, says Chevron failed to monitor work conditions and despite “clear danger” allowed hot work to proceed, leading to an explosion and fire.
Chevron released a statement on the lawsuit saying “protecting people and the environment is one of Chevron’s core values and we strive to operate safely and responsibly. We are aware of the lawsuit and are reviewing it.”
