6/25 – Sam’s “Higher Rain Chance” Wednesday Evening Forecast

Hot and mostly sunny conditions continue across South Mississippi and the eastern half of the US. A few isolated showers and storms are possible this evening and again overnight, but most spots will stay dry. Highs on Thursday will climb into the low to mid-90s, with heat index values topping 105° at times.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms become more likely Thursday through early next week, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. Rain chances will gradually increase, with the highest coverage expected from Friday into early next week. Rainfall amounts will likely range from one to three inches, with isolated higher amounts in heavy downpours.

Despite the storms, there will still be plenty of sunshine in between, and highs will generally remain in the upper 80s to low 90s. Overnight lows will hover in the mid-70s. Light winds will mainly come from the south or southwest, typical for this time of year along the coast.

Keep an eye on the forecast and stay weather-aware, especially if you have outdoor plans.
