Biloxi Fire Chief Joe Boney named president of Southern Association of Fire Chiefs

Biloxi Fire Chief Joe Boney is set to be named president of the Southern Association of Fire Chiefs when the group meets for it.

Chief Boney has served on the association’s board for three years and will be sworn in as president for a one-year term when the organization meets in Biloxi this week, beginning tomorrow and running through Saturday at the IP Casino Resort for their annual conference.

The Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs is a division of the International Association of Fire Chiefs. The group is comprised of ten southeastern states.

The purpose of the annual conference is to provide a forum for fire and emergency service leaders to exchange ideas, develop professionally, and to discuss the latest information on current events that are influencing the American Fire Service.
