Gulfport man sentenced for death threats
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- A Gulfport man on post-release supervision for a 2019 crime will now serve a decade behind bars after making death threats to corrections officers.
Forty-year-old Darius Young’s supervision was revoked this week after Judge Larry Bourgeois heard testimony from witnesses that Young had made statements saying he would allegedly kill corrections officers once released from custody.
Young also admitted to the death threats in the same hearing and apologized for his conduct.
He will now serve 10 years in MDOC custody and additional charges are still being considered due to his threats.
