South Mississippi’s best joined on the softball diamond for the 2025 Mississippi Gulf Coast All-Star game

South Mississippi’s best joined together on the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College diamond for back-to-back All-Star softball games.

20 different schools were well represented among to games with game one consisted of seniors and game two featuring feature stars. Sports Director Ansley Brent spoke with three seniors after their final high school game. They spoke on what it meant to wear these jerseys for the last time.

“I think it’s awesome they do this game because we get to play with people we’ve always played with. We all get to come together and unite and we’re all from the coast and represent the coast so it’s really cool we get to do this,” said D’Iberville senior Piper Rushing.

“It just gives you a since of hope that you get one more game and you’re not really done quite yet,” said St. Patrick’s Elizabeth Colson. “I think it’s a lot of fun that we get to come together for one game and it’s not super competitive, but it’s more for fun than anything.”

“I’ve been a part of Gulfport’s team for five years now and I love my coaches and my teammates. They’re like family to me, and to be able to represent them in this last game and where the uniform one last time means everything, and they made me into the person I am today and I’m just so grateful for them,” said Gulfport’s Caroline Woodward, who was named the West team’s Most Valuable Player.

Congratulations to every athlete who was chosen to compete in this prestigious all-star game!
