18-year-old injured in drive-by shooting in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- An 18-year-old man is recovering from a non-life-threatening wound after a drive-by shooting in Jackson County early Wednesday morning.

Sheriff John Ledbetter says deputies responded to a home on Nevada Avenue in St. Martin and found the victim shot in the leg.

The sheriff says the man was sitting inside an SUV in the driveway when another SUV drove by. Shots were fired and hit the victim once. Another man was also in the vehicle, but was not injured.

Investigators recovered several shell casings and firearm parts. The investigation is underway and anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s department at 228-769-3063 or Coast Crime Stoppers at 877-787-5898.
