Red snapper season extended
Congressman Steven Palazzo tells News 25 the Gulf State Fisheries directors have come to an agreement with the Department of Commerce regarding the extension of the 2017 federal red snapper season.
The season will be extended by either 38 or 39 days pending official word from the Department of Commerce. The extension would open state and federal recreational red snapper season on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through Labor Day.
If the Department of Commerce opens the season June 17th it will be 38 days and 39 days if it opens on the 16th.
