Remembering fallen Long Beach officers

LONG BEACH, Miss. (WXXV)- Today marks a somber anniversary in the City of Long Beach.

It was on this day 27 years ago that two Long Beach police officers were tragically killed in the line of duty.

On May 6, 1998, Detective James Northcutt and Sgt. Steve Morgan responded to a domestic disturbance in the city.

They were killed by a suspect shortly after arriving to that scene.

Tributes and remembrances for the two officers have been pouring in on social media today.

In a Facebook post, Long Beach police say Northcutt and Morgan’s memories live on through each life they touch and every officer that carries their legacy forward.
