Municipal Primary Runoff Election Results
SOUTH MISS (WXXV)-Voters in six South Mississippi cities went to the polls Tuesday for a handful of municipal primary run-off elections. The polls are now closed. The results for each race are below:
Bay St. Louis Alderman at Large:
- Larry Smith (R)-733 votes
- Lonnie J. Falgout (R)-592 votes
According to unofficial results, Smith is the winner of this race. He faces no opposition in the General Election.
- Dixie Newman (R)-121 votes
- Robert Nail (R)- 195 votes
According to unofficial results, Nail is the winner of this race. He faces no opposition in the General Election.
Diamondhead GOP Ward 1:
In Diamondhead, there was a contested Ward 1 GOP runoff between incumbent Shane Finley and Michael Fandal. This is a tight race at the moment, just two votes separate the candidates with 99 percent of the vote reporting with Finley narrowly in the lead.
It’s not clear yet how many absentee or affidavit ballots are out there in this race, so we’re going to wait and see if the vote totals move in this race.
The winner of this election faces no opposition in the general election. They win the seat outright.
Gulfport Democratic Ward 1
- Kenneth Casey Sr. (D)-241 votes
- Kendal Lamar Buckner (D)- 366 votes
According to unofficial results, Buckner is the winner of this race. He faces no opposition in the General Election.
Moss Point Democratic Ward 3
- Timothy Dubose (D)-159 votes
- Jaylon Johnson (D)-68
According to unofficial results, Dubose is the winner of this race. He faces no opposition in the general election.
Pascagoula GOP Ward 3:
- Darcie Crew (R)- 295 votes
- Jamie Foster (R)- 134 votes
