Celebrating National Library Week across the coast: Vancleave Public Library
VANCLEAVE, Miss. (WXXV) – This week is National Library Week, and WXXV is celebrating local libraries across the coast. Jordyn Lassiter TV visits Vancleave Public Library to meet one of their amazing staff members, Ms. Klinshaw.
Allison Klinshaw’s appreciation for the library began early in her childhood, and over time, her use of its resources blossomed into a passionate career within the library itself.
With years of experience working in libraries, Klinshaw has witnessed firsthand how patrons’ needs have evolved in the world of reading and technology. Klinshaw says her favorite part about working in a library is “all the fun things [they] can provide” for their patrons, beyond the scope of books. Klinshaw urges residents to learn more about their local libraries and utilize the resources offered, they might be surprised by what they find.
Local libraries often serve as the backbone of local communities by providing resources to residents who wouldn’t have access without them. This week, many libraries across the country, just like Vancleave Public Library, are being recognized in celebration of National Library Week.
