National Day of Prayer event at the Gautier Church of God
Residents in Gautier gathered together to celebrate National Day of Prayer.
Gautier Church of God welcomed members and non-members to participate in National Day of Prayer.
Community leaders and pastors from various churches came together to spread hope to those in the City of Gautier.
To make sure everyone felt safe they allowed people to come inside or listen from their cars. This year’s theme for the Gautier Church of God National Prayer Day was ‘return the family altar,’ ‘pray Gautier.’ Gautier Church of God First Lady Laura Flowers said, “Talking about the family altar, we got to get back to mother’s and dads praying for their kids. The drug epidemic is awful. It’s very awful. We just lost a young man to that and it just breaks my heart. We got to talk about it. We got to pray about it. Gun control, all those things, our nation needs God and this is a way for Gautier to step up and be a part of the big picture.”
After the service, people gathered around the courthouse and prayed together around the memorial flags.
