13th annual C&R’s Crawfish Cookoff

C&R’s Bar and Grill annual Crawfish Cookoff is back.

On Saturday, the 13th annual Crawfish Cookoff will be co-hosted by Hancock Resource Center who is the beneficiary this year.

Twenty teams will compete for the best crawfish. Trophies will be awarded to first, second, and a third-place winners. Cash prizes will also be awarded.

The first-place winner will receive $500 and the second-place winner will receive $250. There are two other categories that will be up for grabs: people’s choice and most interesting, edible lagniappe item included in the boil.

Hancock Resource Center tells News 25 the benefit raised will help go toward families in need. Rhonda Rhodes with the Hancock Resource Center said, “The proceeds from the event will benefit the Hancock Resource Center. So, we will be able to use that to serve people in the community with rental assistance and housing issues and then our community development and youth programs.”

The event will be held on Coleman Avenue in Waveland and lasts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or when the crawfish run off. To pre-purchase tickets visit www.hancockhrc.org.
