04/12 – Brantly’s “Sunny Today, A Few T-Storms Tomorrow” Monday Morning Forecast
High pressure will dominate the forecast, giving us clear skies and calm conditions today and tonight. Sunny skies, dry and warm conditions, and light southerly winds are expected across our forecast area for Monday, and highs should warm in the 80s across much of the region, with upper 70s along the immediate coast. Dry conditions continue into Monday night, with lows in the 50s. Patchy fog could develop again in a few locations Monday night, especially across southern portions of the area.
Moisture will gradually increase over South Mississippi through Tuesday afternoon, and isolated to scattered showers and possibly a couple of thunderstorms could develop with this pattern. We will keep the best chance of rain, about 30-40%, generally along the coast Tuesday afternoon. High temperatures Tuesday should warm into the 80s again over inland locations with readings in the 70s along the coast.
A few disturbances will move through the area between now and Wednesday. Deep moisture will be forced into the area. An area of low pressure will be oriented east to west over our area, brining few rounds of wet weather. Most locations should see 1 to 2 inches of rain Tuesday and another 1 to 2 inches Wednesday, so totals of 2 to 4 inches with locally higher amounts Tuesday through Wednesday can be expected.
