Search continues for missing man after accidental drowning in Pascagoula

The search continued today for a missing boater in Jackson County.

Sunday at 3 p.m., Marine Patrol responded to an unmanned fishing vessel in Yazoo Bayou across from the Point Pier in Pascagoula.

Officers obtained video footage and noticed the owner lost control of his boat and then attempted to swim after the boat. He was seen on video going under and not returning to the surface.

News 25 has learned the victim’s name is Grady Williams III, but his family calls him Buck. Mr. Williams is in his 50s and worked for Singing River Electric.

He’s a Moss Point resident and attends Safe Harbor United Methodist Church.

A dive team responded to the scene, attempting to locate the body, which has been ruled an accidental drowning.

His wife, parents, and church family have been at the scene praying and hoping he’s found by rescue efforts.
