Fatal vehicle crash under investigation in Gautier

GAUTIER, MS – On February 21, 2025, at approximately 5:30 a.m., the Gautier Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash on Gautier Vancleave Road, between Martin Bluff Road and Interstate 10.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle traveling south crossed the centerline into the northbound lane, colliding head-on with another vehicle. The driver of the southbound vehicle succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the northbound vehicle was transported to a local hospital with injuries that, while serious, do not appear to be life-threatening.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is assisting the Gautier Police Department in the ongoing investigation
