Deadline approaching to apply for FEMA help for Zeta Disaster Assistance
The clock is ticking down to apply for Zeta disaster assistance from FEMA and the SBA.
March 1st is the final day FEMA will be accepting Hurricane Zeta disaster assistance applications from Mississippians affected by the October storm.
So far, FEMA has accepted more than 14,000 applications here in Mississippi and has allocated more than $12.5 million in assistance.
While the deadline to apply is March 1st, FEMA leaders say the sooner you apply for assistance, the better. FEMA Media Relations Manager Robert Howard said, “March 1st is the deadline for anybody who suffered damages from Hurricane Zeta to apply for FEMA assistance. That’s also the deadline for SBA low interest disaster loan assistance. There is a different deadline for businesses that may have sustained economic damages through the SBA. That’s October of this year.”
