Update on Rescued Yorkies

Eighteen of the Yorkie puppies rescued by the Humane Society of South Mississippi and Gulfport police are officially up for adoption.
After a week of some tender love and care, the pups are in great shape and ready to head to a safe home. Humane Society representatives tell News 25 the progress and growth they have seen in the Yorkies is tremendous, especially for living in such poor conditions. Humane Society of South Mississippi Marketing Specialist Maren Slay said, “They look so much better and they’ve really been coming out of their shells. They were really scared and a little nervous in the beginning but we’ve had a lot of volunteers and staff working with them over the past week. It’s been a great growth, definitely.”
The adoption event is this Saturday at the Humane Society location in Gulfport. There will be plenty of pups and pets ready for adoption besides the Yorkies.
