Carnival fun for Coast seniors at the 2025 Senior Mardi Gras Mambo event

South Mississippi seniors are in the carnival spirit after a fun event earlier today.

It was Mambo time at the Lyman Community Center with lots of dancing, food, king cake, and networking opportunities with different senior resources.

The event was organized in part by the City of Gulfport’s special events division. Here’s what some of the seniors had to say about today’s event. “Hi my name is Al, having a great time here at the senior activities over at the Lyman Center. Doing a little bit of line-dancing, I mastered the electric-slide years ago but all of these other ones…We need to do electric-slide and more line dancing, it’s a great time. I’ll be taking my daughter and son in-law out for lunch but we are having a wonderful time here.”

Be on the lookout for more special Mardi Gras events on the Coast moving forward.
