Ocean Springs Middle School goes on lockdown after bullets found

Ocean Springs Middle School went on lockdown for less than an hour Thursday morning after bullets were found on campus.

District spokesman Trey Brennan said the school went on lockdown at 9:23 a.m. after a report was made of the ammunition found on campus.

A search was conducted by campus police and administrators. Brennan said the bullets were found and it was isolated to one classroom.

No weapons were found on campus.

The school went to a shelter in place at 9:43 a.m. and was back to normal schedule by 10:02 a.m.

Brennan could not say how many students were involved in the incident, saying it was an ongoing investigation.
