Officers saw someone walking away from the vehicles with his back to officers. When he turned, the man, identified as Wilcox, had a gun visible in his waistband. He grabbed the gun and threw it. He had erratic behavior and speech and refused to follow commands. He eventually was Tased and taken into custody.
He told officers he had been “laced” with something and was taken to Highland Community Hospital.
While en route to the hospital, officers were told a call came in saying someone on Fern Drive said they found someone dead on their carport. Officers found a man who had been shot on the carport and had died from his wounds. The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Josh Littles of Picayune.
They also found the residence had been shot into. Wilcox was identified as the suspect and charged.
